The Looters

Scenario Summary

Scattered crates laden with supplies litter the centre of the battlefield, and Warbands clash to capture as much of the loot as possible.

Forces

No special restrictions apply to the models the players can include in their Forces in this scenario.

Multiplayer Scenario:

The Looters is a multiplayer scenario that can be played by three to eight players.

The Battlefield

The players make a draw, and the winner sets up the terrain for the game. This scenario uses the No Man’s Land battlefield archetype and requires a battlefield that is 48” by 48”.

Supply Crate Markers

After the terrain has been set up, the players must set up 2 Supply Crate Markers. The player who won the draw sets up 2 Markers first, then the player who came second sets up 2 Markers, and so on. Supply Crate Markers must be set up wholly within 12” of the centre of the battlefield and more than 1” away from any other Markers or Impassable terrain. In addition to these restrictions, each player must place the second Marker they set up more than 12” from the first Marker they set up. If it is impossible to set up a Supply Crate for any reason, then it is discarded and is not used.

Deployment

First the players must divide their Warbands into two groups, one called the vanguard and the other called the reserve. There must be at least 1 model in each group, and there cannot be more models in the vanguard than there are in the reserve.

The players then make a draw. The winner of the draw chooses which Deployment Zone will be theirs and then deploys their vanguard so all the models are wholly within the Deployment Zone. Then the player who came second in the draw chooses a Deployment Zone and deploys their vanguard, and so on. When all the players have deployed, the first Turn of the game can start.

The Vanguard:

Models from the vanguard are placed off the battlefield. They cannot attack or be attacked and cannot use any Abilities, Battlekit, or Skills until they are deployed. Vanguard models that have not yet been deployed are considered part of the Warband for the purposes of Morale Checks.

Infiltrators

Infiltrators must deploy normally (they cannot use their special deployment rules).

Game Length

This scenario lasts four Turns.

Victory Conditions

A player wins this scenario immediately if all the opposing Warbands have fled (typically due to failing a Morale Check). Otherwise, the player with the most Victory Points at the end of the game is the winner.

At the end of the game, each player scores:

  • 1 VP for each Glorious Deed they completed.
  • 1 VP for each crate a friendly model drew supplies from.
  • 2 VPs for each crate a friendly model destroyed.
  • 3 VPs for each crate a friendly model escaped with.

The Death Zone

Machine-gun batteries and snipers have been assigned to keep each Warband’s Deployment Zone free of enemy troops. To reflect this, models treat the battlefield and terrain within 1” of an enemy Deployment Zone as Impassable terrain.

Supply Crates

A model within 1” of a Supply Crate Marker can take an Open Crate

Action
.

Open Crate

Action
: If it does so, choose one of the following three options for the model (you do not have to take a Success Roll):

Carry Crate

Put the Supply Crate Marker in contact with the model’s base to show it is carrying it. The only thing a model carrying a crate can do is take Move or Retreat

Actions
; it cannot do anything else while it has the crate.

  • At the end of its Activation, you can say that a model that is carrying a crate will either drop it or hand it to a friendly model that is within 1”, or you can choose to Destroy Crate or Draw Supplies from the crate as described below. When a model drops the crate, place it within 1” of the model and not in contact with any other models. When a model hands the crate on, place the Supply Crate Marker in contact with the other model’s base.

  • If a model carrying a crate is taken Down or Out of Action, or it is chosen as the target of a Melee Attack, it immediately drops the crate as described above.

  • If a model carrying a crate finishes its Activation wholly within its own Deployment Zone, it can escape with the crate; remove the model and the Supply Crate Marker from the battlefield (see Victory Points). The model is still considered part of the Warband for the purposes of Morale Checks.

Destroy CrateTake a Success Roll for the model. If the roll is a Failure, nothing happens. If the roll is a Success or a Critical Success, the Supply Crate Marker is destroyed (remove it from the battlefield).
Draw SuppliesTake a Success Roll for the model. If the roll is a Failure, nothing happens. If the roll is a Success or a Critical Success, place a
Blessing Marker
next to the model and the crate is emptied (remove it from the battlefield).

Reinforcements

Starting from the second Turn, after the Initiative has been determined, in order of Initiative each player can deploy up to 3 of their vanguard models wholly within their own Deployment Zone.

Glorious Deeds
