Whereas most strains of the Black Grail infect the body alone leaving the mind to suffer, the variant that is spread by Missionaries of Beelzebub infects the mind and brain above all else. This is why these Apostles of the Fly are startlingly successful in winning new converts to their cause despite the self-evident ruin caused by embracing the Lord of the Flies.
