Fall of Bavaria

Godfrey of Bouillon, a crusader present at the fall of Jerusalem and the opening of the portal to hell in the year 1099. Godfrey was dragged screaming into the yawning maw where he was suffused and distilled in the primordial sin. The first to be bathed in the unholy ichor and the first to step from the portal to hell, marking the coming era of war. In the centuries since, Godfrey had led a splintering force of heretics and abominations through the Adriatic Sea, leveling entire regions in hellfire with the flying monstrosities under his thrall. Now, Godfrey marches on Bavaria through the Switzerland Alps, striking at the heart of the Holy Roman Empire. The first blood to spill on the untainted lands of Bavaria will see Trostberg as the first warzone. _____ The once quiet and underdeveloped town of Trostberg is little more than a bloodied bulwark following the heretical onslaught, courtesy of Godfrey. Corrupted flesh and vestigial limb batter the rough hewn palisade surrounding the settlement, with the Stoßtruppen of the free states of Prussia standing at the forefront of the endless legions of hell. A renegade company hailing from the Sultanite indirectly providing long range artillery support. While Godfrey’s forces gradually devolved into infighting over control of what ground was taken, the heretic forces nevertheless dealt decisive and massive casualties to the faithful. For every inch taken, innumerable lives were lost in the name of the Meta-Christ. A new day dawns over the gray sky of Trostberg. Though the blood dries in the wheat fields and by the rivers, the rumble of barbed hooves and the beating of wings grow louder for Ebersberg. The maw moves ever close to Munich, heralding dark days ahead.
