Our First Week In The Trenches. Patch #0.1.1

Hello everyone! Its been an exciting first week of the Trench Companion’s alpha and I cannot thank you enough for your support. Things have gone far better than we ever could have hoped for which we are eternally grateful.

In this post we’ll cover any big events happening with the site, as well as the many issues fixed (and not fixed yet, but known). You can all pat yourselves on the back for this – without your feedback we wouldn’t have a clue about 95% of these bugs.

Major Events & Milestones

  • We’re in blogs! A Troll In The Trenches creates an amazing introduction to the companion, check them out and show some appreciation if you can.
  • Over 1300 people have signed up to the Trench Companion already!
  • Between us all, we’ve got more than 2000 warbands killing and dying in the trenches.

Known Issues

  • Exploration-Only items can be a trouble, as they only appear under certain circumstances in game.
    • Currently we have implemented a toggle in the warband’s main tab to turn on Open Exploration for one-off games who don’t care about limitations imposed by the campaign system.
  • There is a pervasive issue where selectable options, such as the base size for Machine Armour or weapon options for the Plague Knights, can be forgotten by the app when other actions are taken. We’re working hard to shore up these problems, trust us!

Patch Notes

General

  • Fixed App name when downloading to home screen
  • Fixed Home navigation on main home link

Compendium

  • Sub-Machine Guns now have the SHIELD COMBO and BAYONET LUG keywords.
  • Pistols now only require ranged hands, rather than both sets of hands.
  • Trench Mortar shows +1D to Injury, rather than +2D.

Warband Builder

  • General
    • Selling items will round up the cost, rather than down.
    • Increasing the exploration item cap (such as with Black Network Contact) no longer overrides the need to have the glory to pay for something.
    • When moving from unarmed to not-unarmed, a refresh is no longer required to fix the item display-box.
    • Models can now be given their own Notes and Lore text.
    • Attempting to copy a model with upgrades that have a LIMIT correctly checks if you have met the LIMIT or not.
    • Upgrades now properly count towards the cost of the warband.
    • Fixed a bug where copying fighters that a warband could not afford crashed the builder
    • Models that are Dead or Lost will not count towards the number of models, equipment, upgrades, keywords, tags, etc.
    • Models that gain upgrades they later lose access to will still show those upgrades. (i.e Swiss Guard retain the upgrade even after being promoted).
    • Models without Unarmed Penalties have this reflected when they lack any Melee equipment.
    • Added a clarification that Trench Dogs and their variants are considered Exploration-Only items.
  • User Interface
    • Fixed Warband Rating Display in the profile
    • Added a tooltip message when deleting items
    • Improved contrast on warband list items
    • Improved UI for failed promotion dice
    • Battle Scars are now properly showing in print view
    • Improved UI for editing ducats and glory
    • When renaming fighters, reordering is disabled
    • Improved contrast and readability for add element buttons
    • Fixed and unified the placement of error and success messages
    • Improved the UI for Campaign rounds
    • Print Mode now shows correct Data
    • Dragging Models is disabled when popups are active
    • When selecting equipment, items wont have a ranged entry if they have no range (such as Shields).
    • Added a styled info box for warband warnings and tips.
  • Export & Print
    • Added Stashed Ducats and unspent Glory in the Warband Export
    • Fixed Warband rating in the print version
    • Added a link to the warband in the warband export
    • Added current victory points to warband print version
    • Fixed faction name and faction variant names in the print view
  • Exploration
    • Moonshine Stash exploration location has been fully implemented.
    • Jabirean Alchemical Books exploration location has been fully implemented.
    • Sniper’s Nest exploration location has been fully implemented.
    • Fallen Knight exploration location has been implemented.
    • Fallen Troop exploration location has been implemented.
    • Heavy Weapons Cache location has been fully implemented.

Factions & Warbands

  • Heretic Legions
    • Trench Ghosts can now recruit Wretched.
  • Trench Pilgrims
    • All Trench Pilgrim variants can equip Shotguns as normal.
    • Piston Legs for St Methodius shrines now cost 10 ducats.
    • Fixed typos with Iron Capirotes.
    • Saint Methodius can now also buy their ranged weapons with glory in addition to the Ducat-options available to them.
  • The Principality of New Antioch
    • Yeoman’s Bolt-Action Rifle will now show the proper sell value of 5 ducats.
    • Eire Lieutenants are now properly considered Leaders.
    • Heavy Ballistic Shield is now treated as a ‘Shield’ item.
    • Heavy Ballistic Shield can now be equipped with Machine Armour properly.
    • Papal States Intervention Force now start with a Crucifix that does not cost Glory (but still counts for the warband’s rating).
    • Expeditionary Forces of Abyssinia can now recruit 2 Holy Warriors.
    • Anfarro now gives +1 DICE to melee.
  • The Iron Sultanate
    • Dervishes can now equip Reinforced Armour once promoted.
    • Hashashin Leaf is no longer restricted to just Assassins.
    • Halberd-Guns are now considered Melee items.
  • The Cult of the Black Grail
    • Bereaved in Dirge of the Great Hegemon now cost 30 ducats.
    • Executors now can gain Plague Knight ranks like any other knight.
    • Bereaved can now only hold the appropriate equipment items.
    • Fly Bereaved have the right cost/name now.
