Game Reports, Trench Rating and MMR

Together with our latest campaigns update, we released the ability to report games. This feature will link your friends, warbands and campaigns. Here is how it works:

How to Report Games

You will find the game reporter in several different places. Most notably, you can report games for a warband or a campaign right from their respective contextual menus.

Inside the game reporter, you will be able to select the warband(s) you played against, the scenario and the glorious deeds each warband achieved. You also have the option to write a summary or battle report of the game for each game. You will be able to edit a game report later. But once it has been verified, no edits can be made.

This feature will be seamlessly integrated into our upcoming play mode, making this process even easier.

Verified Games

This brings us to the verification process. When you report a game, your opponent will be able to see and edit it. After any edits, the other player will then see a prompt to “sign off” on the game. This will verify the results and finalize the scores. At this point ratings are calculated and applied to your account.

Trench Rating & MMR

For each verified game, two scores will be calculated for each player. Note that this only applies to two-player games. You have the option to set your game to ranked or unranked in the game reporter. Unranked games will not affect your MMR.

The Matchmaking Rating is very similar to other games you might have played. We use a common Elo score system to modify the Rating for each player based on the result of the game and the rating of the opponent. If you want to show off your skills as a competitive player, you might like this feature.

Premium Users will be able to show off their rating scores in their profile. Additionally the game report page will show the difference a game has made to your Ratings. There are no consequences for a high or low MMR, this is purely for bragging rights!

What is Trench Rating?

Trench Rating is a way to measure a players experience with Trench Crusade. Each verified game you report will award points for your Trench Rating. This is a value that will never decrease and is based on your performance in the games you have played.

Where Can I See Reported Games?

The reported games can be seen in many different places: Any game your report will be visible in the “Your Games” page and on your profile. If you report a game for a campaign, it will show up in the campaign history. Additionally, for warbands that are part of a campaign, their game history will be shown in the Warband Builder.

We really hope you appreciate this feature. Our goal is to build a community focused experience where you can show off your experience, stalk your friends and compare game results. As always: If you have any suggestions or find errors in our system, please let us know. Happy Gaming
