Hello one and all, its been a good several months since we launched the Trench Companion and I am so happy to see the support we’ve received. We now have over 8000 Registered Users who have created more than 24000 Warbands!

Things are on the up and up (even if we have to file a bunch of tax forms now) and we plan on continuing work on the upcoming campaign system. Campaigns will allow you to create a campaign and invite your friends to join – letting you track and record the outcome of your battles as you slowly make your way through the grueling scenarios.

Major Updates

  • Explorations have been overhauled to be significantly more user friendly. Automation is more comprehensive and it should be much clearer what the long-lasting effects of locations are on your warband.

Compendium

  • Tartarus Claws use description from page 20 of the core rules.
  • Smokescreen given the CONSUMABLE keyword.
  • Molotov Cocktail given the GRENADE keyword.
  • Incendiary Grenade given the FIRE keyword.
  • Combat Medics now have the Convent Conditioning ability as expected.
  • Holy Grenade is now properly an exploration item.
  • Combat Biologist has been added.

Warband Builder

  • General
    • Dead models are no longer checked during warband validation.
    • Model loadout selections (ie. Mamluk Faris) now impact model stats.
    • Effects that ignore keywords like FEAR, GAS, SHRAPNEL, and FIRE will now cause the Negate X keyword to appear on models.
    • Fixed Friends counting for achievements.
    • Added more features to the Trench Companion Blog.
    • Improved privacy settings.
    • Improved server and database performance.
    • Fixed a bug, where the LIMIT was always displayed if equipment is not limited.
    • Removed link to warband ID when warband is not saved in the cloud.
    • Head Wound now properly removed only the ELITE keyword, and the keyword is given back upon promotion.
    • Having an unrestricted warband is not considered a validation error.
    • The cost of dead warband members is now correctly displayed below their name in the export text.
    • Dead fighters now can not gain new items or campaign values.
    • Improved the design of modifiers.
    • Removed warnings in warband builder from missing keys.
  • User Interface
    • When in Play Mode, special upgrade categories don’t all display as “Goetics”.
    • Fixed a bug, where the Warband Builder UI could be scrolled horizontally.
    • Fixed a bug, where the page would zoom when focusing inputs.
    • Header is now hidden in play mode.
    • Fixed a bug where the page could be scrolled in the background when modals are open.
    • Improved jitter when scrolling up and down fast.
    • Prevented auto-fill password changes.
    • When selecting weapons you can see their details even if they’re not selectable.
    • Fixed iOS auto zoom in the Warband Builder.
    • Fixed light mode main menu link colors.
    • Fixed light mode colors on red background.
    • Fixed light model fighter card image gradient.
    • Fixed main menu image credits overlaying the settings.
    • Disabled the clicking of options when viewing others warbands.
    • The “Bad Company” skill no longer sticks around after the relevant model has been killed.
    • Fighter equipment in preview is sorted by type.
  • Export & Print
    • You can now get the TTS export of warbands not owned by you.
    • Improved Warband import modal UI.
    • Mercenaries no longer show in the troops section when exporting a warband.
    • Added single model TTS Export.
    • Improved warband Text Export Style.
    • Exports should update properly, not just when the mode is switched.
    • Warband export text now only shows name if they are different from model type.
  • Exploration
    • Fallen Soldier exploration no longer checks your available Ducats when searching for ranged weapons.
    • Fallen Soldier exploration location no longer deducts ducats to ‘pay’ for the free items.
    • Book of Golems can equip items from the armoury, as per the current rules. When the errata is made official we will update to match those future rules.
    • You can now duplicate exploration items in the Stash, assuming you have the ability to purchase it normally.

Factions & Warbands

  • Heretic Legions
    • The limit for Heretic Legionaries now properly rounds down.
    • Sarcophagus Mine now converts a trooper into a unique unit type, affecting its available upgrades and the number of Legionaries you can gain.
    • Preserve The Loot now properly prevents all items, even those gained through special means, from being equipped if they have FIRE or SHRAPNEL.
    • Corrupt Merchants now ignores items which can only be given to a specific model.
    • Corrupt Merchants now don’t include Exploration Only items.
  • The Principality of New Antioch
    • Kingdom of Alba shows the proper “Melee Focused” rule.
    • Book of Battle Prayers and Battlefield Title are now properly considered Exploration Only.
    • Combat Engineers can no longer equip shields (will likely change in the future, but for now this is the ruling).
    • Machine Armour now validates if they are holding a trench shield given before they put on the armour.
    • Mechanized Heavy Infantry can no longer choose their base size when upgraded.
    • Abyssinia Mechanized Infantry have the correct stat profile.
    • Highland Mechanized Infantry properly upgrade from Reinforced Armour to Highland Machine Armour.
    • Yeoman now have a warning if not equipped with a ranged weapon.
    • Red Brigade Mercy Dogs now have their upgraded ability.
    • Fixed a typo in “Displeasure of the Church” rule.
  • Trench Pilgrims
    • Combat Helmets are properly not a part of the Trench Pilgrim armoury
    • Wrath of God now checks if you added armour before giving you the upgrade.
    • Shrine Anchorites for Methodius now properly validate how many pieces of equipment you have.
    • Trench Pilgrim resurrection upgrade now transforms them into a distinct model type, with a visually clearer understanding of the price.
  • The Iron Sultanate
    • Weapon Collections now don’t include Exploration Only items.
    • Secret ‘Philosophy, Poetry, and Theology’ no longer gives the alchemist the FEAR keyword.
    • Secret ‘Cartography and Geometry’ no longer lets you select the other alchemist.
    • Philosophy, Poetry, and Theology upgrade doesn’t add chosen models’ equipment when calculating the Alchemist’s stats.
    • HOW “Poetry, Philosophy, and Theology” now gives the NEGATE FEAR keyword.
  • The Cult of the Black Grail
    • Dirge of the Great Hedgemon no longer shows the Machine Gun as an option, since you cannot get an Amalgam.
    • Plague Knight ranks are now limited to 1 of each per warband to reflect developer statement.
    • Helmets no longer prevent Armour of the Fly being equipped.
  • The Court of the Seven Headed Serpent
    • Sorcerers can no longer equip Ranged weapons.
    • Hunter of the Left Hand Path has their bow take up one hand permanently.
    • Re-ordered goetics in play mode.
    • Hide goetics options if no option can be chosen.
