The Price of Greed: Worldly wealth becomes the target of this curse, gradually crushing its victim under its weight. A Knights of Avarice Heretic Priest can take a Price of Greed
Action
. If they do so, take a
Risky Success
Roll for the model. If the roll is a Failure, the Knights of Avarice Heretic Priest’s Activation ends immediately. If the roll is a Success or Critical Success, make an Injury Roll for an enemy model that is within 12" of the model taking the Price of Greed
Action
and in its line of sight. Add
+1 Injury Dice
to the roll if the Success Roll was a Critical Success, and add
+1 Dice
to the roll for each -1
Injury Modifier
that applies to the target (the -1
Injury Modifier
still applies). For example, if the target had Standard Armour with a -1
Injury Modifier
, you would add
+1 Injury Dice
and a -1
Injury Modifier
to the roll.

Raised in the great city of Timbuktu, Reiko was a supreme student who spent days combing through the literature and knowledge of the colleges and libraries. When not neck deep in a book, he would clamber through the tombs and chasms of North-Western Africa to record any new information. Knowledge was power, and he would not be weak. Physically frail, the drafters looked over him and instead took his father and brother to fight the fiends of Mammon in Egypt. Left to care for his mother, sick from an unknown disease, Reiko began spelunking into deeper, more ancient, esoteric crypts for a clue of a cure.

One day, Reiko was approached by a being that looked like a lion, but had an uncanny nature about it. The lion spoke eloquently, telling him that the great lion-headed Purson could reward him in ways that the tyrant YHWH couldn't. Desperate to help his mother, Reiko began bringing his finds and knowledge to secret ritual alters, hoping for knowledge from the Librarian of Hell. The Faithful would discover, and Reiko was chased from his home, leaving his mother behind.

A familiar lion guided Reiko to the libraries of Purson on Earth to teach him the secrets of priesthood. Taking the name Araunah, he vowed to take vengeance against the unloving god that allowed his mother to suffer from an incurable disease. Araunah, archeologist of Purson, would delve into any crypt, tomb, or ancient city and sacrifice any precious artifact or person to acquire and gift mankind all knowledge within the universe, so no son must watch their mother die slowly.

Nothing is known of Kir, save for how they became a chorister. In veneration of Purson, Kir chose to be mauled by savage beasts while reciting blasphemous knowledge from an ancient tome. Their body, shredded, eviscerated, and ultimately decapitated by a great bear, serpent, and lion, had to be placed within an esoteric suit of armor bearing metalwork that depicted Purson's dominion over savagery and forbidden knowledge. Wandering into No Man's Land, Kir was drawn to Araunah in the midst of a sacrificial ritual. Kir's singing enticed the demons beholding the ritual and blessed Araunah with more knowledge than promised. From then on Kir was continually blessed by Purson, being gifted a standard depicting mind-shattering truths of the universe and a dagger made from the claw of one of Purson's greatest Praetors.

Born in Heretic lands, Mida was drawn to worshipping Purson by her innate savagery and cunning. Mida acts as the muscle of the Seekers. No overburden is too strong for her to smash with her hammer, and no relic is too heavy for her to carry before the basalt altar for sacrifice. Delighting in the killing of the Faithful in as brutal manner as possible, she wields her heavy shotgun lovingly named,"The Boomstick". The shells of this weapon are filled with bone fragments from the most savage beasts dwelling within Hell. A talented huntress, Mida kills the creatures herself, disappearing from camp for months at a time to acquire the necessary materials for her ammunition and the warband's ritual sacrifices.

After the Seekers' loss at the hands of the daemons of Sloth, Front Cover was sent alongside with the rest of the artifacts sacrificed by the warband as a way to placate their daemonic patron. Sensing the evil within his soul, Araunah's Sorcerer liaison opted not turn Front Cover into one of the thousands of Purson's living tomes. Instead, he was brought to the library of Purson to cement his freedom from the binds of being one of the wretched. Upon reaching the infernal library of Purson, Front Cover was transformed into one of the lion-headed devil's reviled anointed. Taking the name Baal-Hanan was his first act upon gaining his freedom. His next was marching back to the Seekers to pledge his strength to them, for serving Purson was all he knew.
